They may only have one less-than-stylish uniform (goggles and blue overalls), but the Minions have been making a splash in the fashion world regardless. The yellow creatures serve as inspiration for new collections from Baja East, Linda Farrow and Ruthie Davis. The Baja East x Minions collection, which features a Minions-inspired palm print, will be shown at the brand's Sept. 9 show at New York Fashion Week and will be immediately shoppable ($195-$3,000) after the show on the brand's website and at its afterparty, as well as at select retailers next spring.

Ideas for bananas

As you may already be aware, we Minions love bananas.  Never let us hear that great song of woe, "Yes, We Have No Bananas" for without them we would be very hungry.  I am currently working out a series of recipes for banana omelets, banana jello, and banana cookies laced with certain herbs.  No wonder we are almost always smiling and giggling!  BANANAS RULE!

A tire track across a lawn and the stump of a shattered utility pole at 206 Lincoln Ave. in Rumford remained as evidence of an early-morning crash Friday Police arrested Charles Beardsley 29, of Rumford at 2:06 a.m. on Knox Street on charges of operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and failing to report a property damage crash by quickest means possible. Beardsley was not hurt. He was released on S800 unsecured bail and will be arraigned Sept.3 in 11th District Court. Rumford administrative officer Matthew Desroches said Friday afternoon that Beardsley was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup truck when he struck the utility pole. Desroches drove off and was later found on Knox street, Desroches said.

The project of the day is installing a closet rod in the first floor bathroom/laundry room.  Now there will be no good reason for clothes not to be hung up as soon as the dryer stops!
